Feller Heating has been in operation for over 45 years. It was started in 1979 as a sole proprietorship by Ed Feller of Bellingham. The company was incorporated as an S corporation in 1994, at which time it was owned by Gerrit Starkenburg.
To accommodate it’s growth, the company moved to its present location, which tripled the amount of shop & office space. Additional staff were hired to handle the increase in sales.
In mid-1996 John & Jacquee Larsen joined the firm as minority shareholders. John came from a professional management position at a larger manufacturing and contracting firm. Jacquee came from a banking and accounting background and also spent time overseas in Nepal working for World Concern. Jacquee was the Expatriates Liaison for housing, negotiating rental agreements for housing of project staff.
John’s background was in Industrial and Commercial applications and the Commercial HVAC market was targeted as a growth area.
In 2001 Steve Felbinger, joined John & Jacquee Larsen as a partner and together they purchased remaining shares of the company from the Starkenburg’s. Steve came from the Seattle area with 10 years of industry experience in project management, design, application and sales of HVAC systems. Steve received both regional and national recognition in sales from his time in Seattle. The focus now was set on bolstering Fellers Residential and Service HVAC market in Whatcom County.
Fast forward to January 2020 which was another time of transition at Feller. John and Jacquee Larsen stepped into full time retirement and Steve Felbinger transitioned to President of Feller Heating. Pre-planning for this move started in 2016 by bringing on additional staff to help prepare for the 2020 transition.
Currently annual sales revenue have exceeded our 2001 transition by over $5 million.
